Objective of the scheme

The government has launched this scheme keeping in mind the welfare of the state farmers. The main objective behind its launch is to provide a financial support to the farmers & Cultivators through monetary benefits.

It will be helpful for them in meeting their various investments during the crop season which will ultimately increase the crop production and will prove as a catalyst in developing the agricultural economy of the state.

Benefits

  1. All the needy farmers of the state who are eligible can avail the facility of loans from the various banks affiliated to scheme at absolutely zero (0%) interest rate
  2. The tenant farmers can also avail the allowance of Rs. 2500 per year under this scheme
  3. The scheme also provides free borewell facilities. Under this, approximately 200 borewells drill rigs will be allotted to each assembly constituencies. The digging of wells will be free of cost for all the farmers.
  4. Nine hours of free electricity in a day to the farmers.
  5. The road tax for tractors belonging to the farmers is no longer being charged under this scheme
  6. The facility of cold storage units at various places in the state has been started.
  7. Life insurance cover will also be provided to dependents of farmers, which may amount to Rs. 5 lacs. Also, the premium will be paid by the government.
  8. This scheme ensures Rs. 13500/- per year and Rs 67,500 in five years as financial help to each farmer’s family before the start of the sowing season. It is being provided by the Govt. of India under PMKISAN scheme) for 5 years. It will be paid as per following 3 instalments:
  1. First instalment of Rs. 7,500 in May,
  2. Second instalment of Rs. 4000 in October
  3. Third instalment of Rs.2,000/

Eligibility

  • State of Central PSEs and attached offices/autonomous institution under government as well as regular employees of local bodies (excluding multi-tasking staff/class 4/group D employees) are excluded
  • If a person is serving or retired, officer or employee of Central government ministry or state government ministry/officers/ departments and their fields are excluded
  • If a person is a former or present member of lok sabha/rajyasabha/state legislative assembly/state legislative council are excluded
  • Former or present mayors of municipal corporation are excluded
  • Former and present chairperson of district panchayat are excluded
  • All the institutional land holders, farmer families in which one or more of its member are former or present holder of constitutional post and former or present minister and state minister are excluded

The government of Andhra Pradesh uses databases related to existing land ownerships under the rythu bharosa scheme. All the eligible farmers of selected areas are surveyed and identified by the village volunteers. After all the information is gathered and compiled, the village volunteers report to the revenue officials. After that, the final list of beneficiaries is prepared by the revenue officers.
